Why not use the ryzen for developing too? 8 cores for compilation is a big relief.

Yes sure, and it would have been cheaper to buy a 7700K only. But I also updated my dev-station. Now I work/code with with the Core i5 6600K and I test/benchmark with the Ryzen 7 1700…
