I've knew this since tuesday. ;) I don't plug new GPU yet until maybe only sunday because I should clean dust on my ultra-tower. But Zotac box includes new NVIDIA 12VHPWR with only 3x8-pin adapter -> is this adapter normal (see 2 photos)?

Allegedly the good adapters are labeled 300 Volt, the bad ones 150 Volt

Do I need to buy 300V 12VHPWR adapter? But do you forget my only 3x 8-pin?

I have no idea what the best adapter is.

I suggest to check: https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/

ShaderToyMark v0.3.0

Watch - New GeForce RTX 4090 on "old" ShaderToyMark 0.3.0 with MSI monitoring

My result without any monitoring using:

Graphs with this new GPU and my past videocards:

This RTX 4090 performance is impressive!! Wooww! 😱😁🥰 Because my RTX 4090 is more than 10x faster than GTX 980 Ti on few apps/games/samples.

ShaderToyMark v0.3.0 (cont.)

NOTE: 1%-2% CPU usage of FireStorm affected the performance and I don't use this Zotac tool anymore.

Watch - New RTX 4090 - higher score on "old" ShaderToyMark 0.3.0 with MSI monitoring

How do we get normal performance before benchmark - jump to the 58-second. 🙂

My higher result without any monitoring using and without FireStorm used:
0.3.0_default - i7-12700KF@5.2GHz HT off_RTX 4090-526.86-HQ.JPG

The RTX 4090 performance can get faster performance!?!! Wow! 😱😁🥰

Nice score.

I just tested ShaderToyMark 0.3 and I got 2337 points (389 FPS) with a GeForce RTX 2070. So in this benchmark, a RTX 4090 is four time faster than a RTX 2070 (+418%)...

And FurMark scores? P1080, P1440 and P2160?

And the raytracing test?

Thank you for "Nice score". :)

ShaderToyMark at minimum framerates:
my new RTX 4090 (~1320fps) is 11x faster than my old GTX 980 Ti SC+ (only ~120fps). :O :D

-> each 6 years - 2010, 2016, 2022 at minimum in fps:
- (not my) NVIDIA Titan X Pascal* (2016): ~175fps (?) vs (my old) NV GF GTX 480 (2010): ~40fps --- ~4x
- (my) NV GF RTX 4090 (2022): ~1320fps vs (not my) NVIDIA Titan X Pascal (2016): ~175fps (?) --- ~7.5x woww!! :O :O :D

My results - CPU i7-12700KF@5.2GHz and GPU RTX 4090 with GF 526.86 - HQ running Win 10

spp | fps

32  | 131

Impressive FurMark score!
I will use this result to update FurMark scores page (https://www.geeks3d.com/20120413/furmark-opengl-benchmark-scores-comparative-charts/)
The best score I got is 17507 (292 FPS) with a Radeon RX 6800 XT.

I had (have) a very similar set up to yours with a previous gen to you intel i5 3570k and GTX 980ti. I had a swap out of motherboard and CPU with a Asus Strix and i5 10600k , I had to replace Mobo due to a dumb mistake plugging into the USB 3.2 header it was really tight fit and I bent a couple of pins so now I've got a Gigabyte Z590. The thing is I'm still using my GTX 980ti and most of my desktop usage is for gaming and at 1080p its still very capable, for example Cyberpunk 2077 I can get well over 60FPS with most settings maxed out. Sadly this card is showing its age and now the fans are starting to fail and I can't get replacements. I'm using a home made cooling fix with 120mm case fans cable tied on. So it time I got a new GPU but the pricing, confusing line up and making comparisons is putting me off. I think reading your post has made me a little clearer I was looking at an RTX 4070 up to a 4090 , I was already thinking on the lines of an i5 10600 bottle necking in any case and the 4090 being overkill but then I look a the 4070ti £800 - 900 and thinking ahead would it be worth the expense for the 4090 , I m not likely to be doing  much 4k stuff tho. I was wondering how do you find the pairing of your 12700KF with the 4090 ? and what's is the story behind your CRT monitor out of curiosity, the pairing of old and new seems such a mismatch, you obviously have a good reason why, for a certain application perhaps ?

What's any issue of your GTX 980 Ti? Is fans only damaged? You should clean dust inside your tower in each between 1 and 6 month(s).

For RTX 4090, you get the very fast single-core CPU (eg: i7-12700KF or i5-13600KF or i9-13900KF or... - I advice you "KF" surfix because we don't care iGPU). :)

I stay "CRT" for monitor because any best thin monitor (OLED or LCD with LED backlight or...) has still motion blur issue at non-strobe despite the response time of 0.01~0.2ms (OLED only). It can't compete any CRT at low vertical frequency (less than 60~70Hz) despite the strobe of thin monitor. Because I want "50Hz" for watch live TV and 50fps videos. ;)

I want RTX 4090 for use Octane Render (3D renderer) software and for play on hyperrealism games (eg: Cyberpunk 2077 with RT Overdrive...). :)

Yes, I'm very happy because retail 12VHPWR adapter still works perfectly fine due to the fully plugged in since nov 11th, 2022.

Sorry for the dust but I have cleaned the dust in my ultra-tower. :)

But... if the retail adapter and 12VHPWR port will weirdly *explode* despite fully plugged in, I'll buy new adapter immediately before this explosion, ok?
