We are thinking about using Furmark 2 to stress test laptops at work, but want to make sure we are legal to do so, is it really free for commercial use or do we need to purchase the Furmark 2 Pro license we found here?

According to the current EULA.txt file you can find in furmark 2 folder, furmark 2 is not free for commercial use. You should buy a license. In practice, purchasing a pro license is a way to support the development of furmark 2. I don't want and I don't have the time to track who is using furmark 2 in a business context or not.
