Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT have been announced by AMD more or or less 6 weeks ago. Today, both cards are available at resellers and reviews pop up everywhere.
In a word: the Radeon RX 7900 XTX offers the same level of performance (even a bit faster at 4K resolution) in rasterization than the GeForce RTX 4080 for $200 less. But if ray tracing performance is something important for you, then forget the RX 7900 and consider the RTX 4080. Power efficiency is improved compared to RX 6000 but is behind RTX 4080. The Radeon RX 7900 XT is more or less 15% slower than the RX 7900 XTX.
